SMASHTOSHI: BIT / The History of Bitcoin
2025, November 12 | LondonGina Choy’s painting Merkle Tree (2025), a 102 x 202 cm acrylic on canvas, is featured in BIT — The History of Bitcoin by Smashtoshi, a 2140-edition art book uniting artists and researchers around the cultural legacy of Bitcoin. Each edition includes panoramic spreads, a companion research volume, and a custom display stand engraved with the Bitcoin whitepaper. The official launch will take place at Asprey Studio, Mayfair, featuring the first public viewing, a panel on art and Bitcoin culture, and a private reception with artists and guests.

This initiative re-imagines public space as a dynamic canvas for digital art, expanding Choy’s exploration of perception, materiality, and the interplay between form and formlessness. By bringing contemporary digital works into urban landscapes, ArtCrush fosters new ways of experiencing art beyond traditional galleries.

2024, February 10 – 19 | BeijingEleven digital artworks from Gina Choy’s Xiě Dòng Huà 寫動畫 collection are on display on an 11 x 8-meter screen at Joy City, Beijing, during the Chinese New Year celebrations. Curated by NEAL Gallery and NINFA, this large-scale presentation runs from February 10–19, 2024, bringing Choy’s exploration of traditional Chinese artistic philosophies and AI technology into a dynamic public space.
The premium publication “BIT: The History of Bitcoin” by Smashtoshi features Choy’s new work Merkle Tree (2025), with the official launch at Asprey Studio in Mayfair, London.
